The Indalo
Almeria took a cave painting of a human figure found in one of the rocky shelters in the Maimón Chico as its symbol and sign of identity. This is the so-called Indalo, named in honour of San Indalecio, who brought Catholicism to the southeastern part of the Peninsula. The Iberian name, "Indal eccius", means messenger of the gods.
